MEET THE MODEL: Shelby Cobra

Today we have an extremely special Meet The Model interview - one with  Austin, Texas very own local High Priestess - Shelby Cobra! She was one of our amazing models for our brand new Potion Nailz set that dropped last week. Not only did she model for us, but she helped set our scene with her very own altar.

We met Shelby at our local Witch Market, put on by one of our very own vendors - Yarrow & Sage, and was enamored by her energy. We're excited to dive into the daily life & routine of a local witch.

I’m a total 90's babe! Total nostalgia 🖤  I’m currently listening to everything by The Smiths! I also am obsessed with Bailey Sarian's YouTube show Murder, Mystery & Makeup.

TELL US ABOUT AN IDEAL DAY IN THE LIFE OF YOU! DO YOU HAVE A DAILY RITUAL?

Everyday life for me is all about creating. I love to create new things whether it be spells for my shop or art for my caravan. My daily rituals involve cleansing my home with sage, bathing in the blood of my enemies & meditation. But seriously, witchcraft is a part of my daily routine. It helps ground me & connects me with my ancestors!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATIONS?

My biggest inspiration is my family, especially my mother. Being an immigrant from Colombia and single mother of 3, she’s overcome so many obstacles. Working in the male dominated industry of tech start ups, she’s always maintained her boss bitch status. Being the daughter of an immigrant is so powerful especially in this day and age. I’m so proud to call her my mother.

WORKING ON ANY COOL PROJECTS YOU WANNA SHARE?

During the start of the pandemic my husband and I bought a 90's caravan and we’re completely renovating it. It’s pretty much a traveling altar and living art piece inside & out. We are currently looking for land and plan to live in it while we build our own home.

TELL US ABOUT ONE THING YOU’D REALLY LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH WITH YOUR TIME ON EARTH!

I’m the High Priestess of a coven here in Austin, Texas & my goal is to help others through the power of spirituality. My goal is to broaden my coven & start a church on my land - to create a safe haven for witches of all kinds.

FAVORITE SELF CARE RITUAL?

Baths! I adore baths, there’s a sense of washing off any negative energy & cleansing and rejuvenating your body and soul. My absolute favorite is milk baths filled with fresh flowers & oils, and of course in a vintage claw foot tub!

WHEN DID YOU START DABBLING IN THE ARTS?

I’ve always had a want & need for the craft in my life. I would create potions of berries and twigs in the woods when I was little. When I got a little older I would collect my favorite stones, crystals & dried flowers and keep them in a little box under my bed. Now I have my own metaphysical & apothecary shop, I’m part of the Austin Witches Circle & I’m the High Priestess of my coven. Witchcraft has always been a part of my life. Coming from Colombia it has always been in my blood. I’m the bruja of the family. I’ve always had the Eye, as some people would call it (meaning I can see things others don’t - auras, spirits & things yet to come). I use my gifts to help others and I could not see any other way to live. I’m so happy people are starting to open up to Witchcraft & Spirituality. It’s a powerful tool for life!
